Who's New at Orenda
New Officers ~ As of January 2006, a new slate of
officers has taken the reins at Orenda. David Tately,
a Board member since 2000, steps up from Vice President
into the hard to fill shoes of outgoing President Ralph
Herbst. Thankfully, Orenda is not losing Ralph, as
this hard-working member is remaining on the Board
and will continue to serve on the Land Acquisition
Committee.
Dan Morast, formerly Clerk, and a Board member since
1993, is now serving as Vice President. Kenneth Burnes,
who has been on the Board for 3 years, remains in the
all-important position of Treasurer, and Elizabeth
Lewis who joined the Board in 2002 is now the Clerk.
The new officers are committed to revitalizing our
land acquisition efforts and to continue to build on
Orenda,s Private Sanctuary Program.
New Administrator ~ Replacing Leah Stapleton (who
is pursuing a career in education) as administrator,
is longtime volunteer Linda Bound. She began over 15
years ago cleaning cages at Orenda's wildlife clinic,
helped with yard sales and other fund-raisers, and
donated her skills as a graphic artist. When the opportunity
to become Orenda's administrator arose, Linda was thrilled
to be able to use her art and writing abilities, as
well as to take on the challenges of handling bookkeeping
and database management. If you have cause to call
Orenda's office, chances are the voice answering, "Good
morning, Orenda" will be Linda's.
Congratulations to you all!
With some new faces, some old faces in new places,
and our dedicated membership, Orenda is looking forward
to living up to our mission in a big way this year.
We make an unstoppable team!
